Tulisan ini masih terkait dengan pandemi covid-19, namun bukan tentang jumlah jiwa terpapar, jumlah pasien, jumlah penyintas, jumlah yang wafat—juga bukan program-program pemutusan sebaran, bukan pula vaksinasi. Ini tentang sisi lain pandemi itu sendiri, bahwa di balik pandemi—sebagai musibah, bencana, atau ujian—hadir pula di antara kita Orang Kaya Baru (OKB) dan Masyarakat Berpenghasilan Rendah (MBR).

Di tengah rundungan pandemi secara nasional dan global, OKB hadir secara mendadak di “desa miliarder” (Sumurgeneng dan dua desa lain) di Kecamatan Jenu, Tuban Jawa Timur. (Yang sering melewatinya, jangan lupa mampir.) OKB di desa ini hadir berkat uang ganti untung atas lahan mereka yang dibeli oleh PT Pertamina untuk proyek kilang minyak. OKB menjadi miliarder mendadak! Akibatnya, OKB itu diserbu para petugas bank, toko HP, properti, dan otomatif—akhirnya mereka membeli mobil baru 180 unit. Sementara itu, di Surabaya, diwartakan ada 815.470 jiwa MBR sebagai akibat pandemi sampai akhir 2020 (Jawa Pos, 16/2/2021). OKB Tuban mendapat anugerah rezeki nomplok, dan MBR Surabaya mendapat kesulitan.
Di sini pandemi hanya mewakili musibah atau bencana yang bertubi-tubi dihadirkan di negeri ini, baik pandemi sendiri, gempa bumi, tanah longsor, dan banjir. Selain korban-korban jiwa, pastilah ada kesedihan, penderitaan, dan dzikir-nya manusia akan Khalik-nya. Sejumlah 815.470 jiwa masyarakat Surabaya juga dikaruniai ujian dengan sedikit kekurangan dalam kondisi pandemi yang tak menentu ini—tentu, secara nasional, jumlahnya bisa berlipat-lipat. Toh Tuhan juga melimpahkan ujian berupa melimpahnya uang bagi masyarakat “desa miliarder” tersebut. Di tempat satu ujian berupa kesedihan, di tempat lain berupa kemewahan. Terimalah saja ketentuan-Nya, jangan protes atau mengeluh![]
