Dan sahabat itu adalah seorang penulis, sama dengan Anda, juga seorang penulis yang terus meniti jalan sepi literasi. Dulu kalian sama-sama terbiasa berjuang dalam dunia literasi, lalu dia menghilang, ditelan kesibukan. Lalu kini sahabat itu kembali. The writer is back!
Ya, sang penulis itu, sahabat saya, kini sudah kembali. Dia kembali ke habitatnya: dunia menulis, termasuk menulis di koran. Saya tahu persis penulis itu sebab dia adalah sahabat saya, yang dulu pernah mengaku suka tulisan-tulisan saya, yang kemudian artikelnya bermunculan di kolom opini sejumlah koran. Sahabat saya kembali tepat setelah “terpicu” oleh kliping artikel saya, yang mengingatkan dia akan “kejayaan”-nya menulis di koran.
Sungguh, the writer is back, kembali dari kevakuman akibat tugas-tugas yang berjibun sebagai dosen–tugas yang telah melenakannya dari tugas menulis. Kini dia berjanji, “Insya Allah hari ini saya akan mulai nulis lagi.” Setelah sekian tahun ini berkutat dalam tugas tanpa henti, dia pun menyadari, “Tanpa tulisan rasanya agak kering dunia ini dan hari-hari seperti berjalan tanpa arti.”
Kevakuman atau berkurangnya produktivitas menulis bisa terjadi pada siapa saja. Namun, lebih baik sadar sekarang dari pada tidak sama sekali. Bandul jam tidak pernah berhenti selama ada baterei di dalamnya. Ada kalanya di atas, ada kalanya di bawah. Siklus dan kisah hidup penulis amat mempengaruhi produktivitas–juga keistiqomahan berkarya. Saya pernah mengalami tahun-tahun agak paceklik karya. Bersyukurlah saya sadar untuk kembali, mirip dengan yang dialami sahabat saya itu.
“Kesadaran adalah matahari,” begitu kata WS Rendra. Maka, kesadaran sahabat saya itu menyinari, menghangatkan, membakar semangat, dan menghidupkannya agar menulis kembali ke koran–syukur-syukur bisa melebar ke blog, website, atau buku. Kesadaran itulah yang membangkitkan passion-nya untuk membuat dunianya tidak kering dan melimpahkan makna bagi siapa saja. Makna kesadaran adalah kehadiran atau eksistensi dia kembali.
Selagi semangat dan passion itu kembali, saya yakin menulis adalah persoalan kecil–hanya perlu pembiasaan beberapa saat, kembalilah semuanya. Mengapa demikian? Kemahiran, ya, kemahiran tidak mudah hilang dari seseorang. Kemahiran itu melekat pada penguasanya. Menurun ya, kaku ya, namun tidak hilang. Maka, kemahiran menulis sahabat saya–saya yakin–akan kembali secepat dia menulis sejumlah artikel untuk media yang dia inginkan. Setelah itu, dia akan kembali melesat.
Sungguh, saya merindukan artikel-artikelnya menghiasi kolom koran. Untuk kondisi sekarang, saya rindu artikelnya mewarnai jagad blog dan website. Saya juga rindu dia menyusun buku (lagi) yang bahasanya ringan namun isinya berbobot. Entah berapa karya yang pernah saya baca darinya, namun hal itu telah meyakinkan saya bahwa dia akan mampu kembali ke habitatnya dengan mudah. Saya saksi akan kapabilitasnya. Dia bukan penulis kemarin sore.
Rasa syukur saya bertambah, mengingat saya akan menambah mitra lagi dalam menulis. Masih banyak dibutuhkan penulis yang baik, untuk membangkitkan minat baca-tulis bangsa ini. Bangsa ini mengalami “sekarat literasi” dan menunggu hadirnya karya-karya yang menghidupkan, membangkitkan, dan mengerakkan. Maka, kehadiran kembali sahabat saya ini adalah anugerah yang luar biasa.
Mengapa diperlukan tambahan mitra penulis? Ya, seorang dia sebagai penulis sepadan dengan 10 atau 100 orang bukan penulis. Kedatangan dia, kini, menambah daftar mitra penulis yang baik, yang setiap hari berlatih dan mengkreasikan karya-karyanya, untuk menyediakan bahan bacaan bermutu bagi masyarakat. Jumlah penulis Indonesia terus bertumbuh dan bertambah, memang. Namun, jumlah (calon) pembaca juga tidak berkurang. Peluang ini harus ditembus dengan cerdas.
Maka, di depan tantangan literasi, sahabat saya dan para sahabat penulis lain mungkin akan menginspirasi para sahabat mereka untuk menguatkan barisan penulis negeri ini. “Seribu sahabat masih kurang, satu musuh sudah terlalu banyak.” Mereka diharapkan membangkitkan kembali semangat dan passion menulis sahabat mereka, sebagaimana artikel saya telah menggugah kesadaran sahabat saya.
Sekarang, dengan rasa syukur yang menggelora dan menggetarkan jiwa, saya menutup tulisan ini: “Selamat datang kembali, sahabat penulis. Karyamu ditunggu jutaan anak negeri. Insyaallah mereka akan membaca tulisanmu, dan akan menulis karya sendiri karena tulisanmu. Mudah-mudahan jariyah ilmu dan pengetahuanmu mendapatkan limpahan pahala yang mengalir setiap waktu.”
